Marketing Preferences
Effective April 3, 2026
This page explains the types of non-essential communications Derm may send and the choices you have to opt in, opt out, or update your preferences.
Overview
We want marketing communications to feel useful, timely, and easy to control. This policy covers the non-essential emails, messages, and promotional communications we may send in connection with Derm.
You are always in control of whether you receive those communications, and you can change your preferences at any time unless a message is strictly necessary to operate your account or deliver a requested service.
Types of Communications
Communications from Derm generally fall into the following categories:
Transactional (required)
These messages are necessary to run your account or deliver the service you requested and generally cannot be turned off while your account remains active:
- Account verification, sign-in, password reset, and security alerts.
- Appointment confirmations, scheduling changes, and specialist handoff notifications.
- Care-plan updates, progress reminders, and billing or subscription notices.
- Important legal, policy, or operational notices about the service.
Product updates
Announcements about new features, service improvements, and notable product changes that may be relevant to your use of Derm.
Skincare guidance
Educational emails or in-product messages with skincare tips, treatment literacy, seasonal guidance, and general wellness content.
Promotional offers
Discounts, referral campaigns, early-access offers, and similar promotional messages. We send these only where allowed by law and, when required, only with your consent.
Consent and Opt-in
We use an opt-in approach for non-essential marketing where required by law and aim to present consent choices clearly when you create an account, adjust settings, or join a campaign.
We do not treat silence or inactivity as consent. Where consent is required, your choice should be explicit, specific, and easy to withdraw.
Where applicable, we keep records of marketing consent and preference changes so that we can honor your choices and demonstrate compliance.
How to Opt Out
You can update or withdraw marketing preferences at any time through:
- Your account settings, where available, including notification or communication controls.
- The unsubscribe link included in marketing emails.
- A request sent to support@derm.com if you need help updating your preferences.
Preference changes may not affect messages that were already scheduled for delivery, but we aim to process opt-out requests promptly.
Third-party Marketing
We do not sell or rent your contact details to third-party marketers. We also do not permit third parties to market to you through Derm unless the communication is part of a clearly described campaign and allowed by law.
If we run a co-branded promotion or partner offer, we will aim to identify the participating party and make the nature of the communication clear.
Marketing Cookies and Tracking
We may use cookies, pixels, and similar tools to understand campaign performance, measure engagement, and tailor certain content or promotions. These tools are separate from cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to function.
Where required by law, marketing cookies are used only after you provide consent. You can manage these preferences through our cookie tools or your browser settings.
Communications to Minors
We do not knowingly send non-essential marketing communications to children under 16. If we learn that a minor has been subscribed to marketing messages in error, we will remove that subscription as soon as reasonably possible.
Changes to Marketing Practices
We may update these marketing practices as our product, campaigns, or legal obligations evolve. When required, we will seek renewed consent before applying material changes to how we use your information for marketing.
We may update this page without separate notice for non-material changes, such as clarifications, formatting improvements, or changes that do not expand how marketing data is used.
