Privacy Policy

Effective April 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what Derm collects when you use our platform, why we use it, how long we keep it, and the controls available to you.

Overview

Derm.care ("Derm", "we", "us", or "our") provides AI-supported skin analysis, care planning, progress tracking, and access to tele-specialist support. Because those services involve account details, skin-health context, and uploaded photos, privacy is a core part of how we operate the product.

This policy applies when you browse our website, create an account, complete assessments, upload images, communicate with support, or use any connected care feature. If you do not agree with the practices described here, please do not use the service.

Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you use Derm and which features you choose to access:

  • Account information, such as your name, email address, date of birth, and login details.
  • Assessment and health information, including skin concerns, symptoms, medical history, routines, and other context you choose to provide.
  • Images and related metadata submitted for AI-supported skin analysis or specialist review.
  • Product and device information, such as browser type, device identifiers, IP address, pages viewed, and feature usage.
  • Communication records, including messages sent to support, care coordinators, or tele-specialists through the platform.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to run the service responsibly and improve the quality of the experience:

  • To deliver image-based skin analysis, tailored recommendations, and progress tracking based on your inputs.
  • To coordinate tele-specialist consultations and give participating clinicians the context needed to review your case.
  • To send essential account, care, billing, safety, and service communications.
  • To measure performance, troubleshoot issues, and improve features using aggregated or de-identified insights where appropriate.
  • To protect users, enforce our terms, detect abuse, and maintain platform security.

Image Processing and AI Analysis

When you upload a photo, we process that image to generate AI-supported insights about visible skin concerns and to help structure the next step in your care flow. Images may also be made available to a tele-specialist if you request a consultation.

We do not sell your images. When we use image-derived information to improve the product, we do so in aggregated, de-identified, or otherwise privacy-protective forms where reasonably possible.

You can request deletion of uploaded images and related analysis records, subject to any retention obligations required for compliance, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, or care continuity.

Information Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share information only when it is needed to provide the service, comply with law, or protect the platform:

  • With tele-specialists, care partners, or coordinators involved in a consultation or follow-up you request.
  • With vendors who support hosting, communications, analytics, customer support, security, or payments, under contractual confidentiality and data protection obligations.
  • With regulators, courts, law enforcement, or other third parties when required by law or legal process.
  • As part of a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing, or asset transfer, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.

Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and loss. These safeguards include encryption, access controls, logging, and vendor review practices.

No system is completely risk-free, but we limit access to sensitive information to people who need it for legitimate business, support, or care-related purposes and who are subject to confidentiality obligations.

Data Retention

We keep personal information for as long as it is reasonably necessary to operate your account, provide requested services, maintain records, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and protect the platform.

When information is no longer required in identifiable form, we may delete it, anonymize it, or retain it in aggregated form for analytics, product quality, and business records.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, including the right to:

  • Access the information we hold about you.
  • Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Request deletion of information, subject to legal or operational retention requirements.
  • Request a portable copy of certain information in a commonly used format.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, including direct marketing where applicable.

To make a privacy request, contact us at privacy@derm.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.

Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies and similar technologies to keep the website secure, maintain sessions, remember preferences, and support core product functionality. We may also use analytics technologies to understand performance and improve the service.

Where required by law, non-essential cookies are used only with your consent. You can manage your settings through our cookie tools or your browser controls, although disabling certain cookies may affect site functionality.

Children's Privacy

Derm is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, contact us and we will review the request promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product changes, operational updates, or legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the effective date shown on this page.

If an update materially changes how we handle personal information, we may also provide additional notice through the product or by email where appropriate.
